I think this is it for now. I'll live with it for a while and see how it goes. It is a big departure, but I wanted something cleaner after the busy-ness of the last one. It feels seasonal to the cold, cold winter we're having here in MN. Changing things like background and link color and underlining can technically be done, but I'm not sure it's worth the work, since it's not like I'm marrying this, or anything. I'll try for a new one every six months or so. The next one should be easier, since it probably won't involved lots of backups and a big upgrade. I should’ve known I would get a range of reactions! I don't think it's because of the white background (though perhaps you could change the color of your links, because they do sort of blend in), but rather because there is very little graphical interface for readers. A few graphics (even just in your header) would provide some pop, and would help draw passersby in.
