Well said. I enjoyed this one more than I expected to. It really is a great, worthwhile read.

I hope it's okay that I linked to your review on <a href="http://warthroughthegenerations.wordpress.com/book-reviews-wwii/" rel="nofollow">War Through the Generations</a>.

I can't believe I haven't read this book yet. Maybe it will be my next read although I can't read 24 hours straight. Thanks for pushing it back to the top of the pile.

I think you're right on about the book. I thoroughly enjoyed it, though would hesitate to call it a great book. It fit in the category of "good women's fiction" to me -- better-written and more substantial than chick-lit, but with some of the same core elements.

It wasn't in the worst list; I just had it confused with The Lace Reader, which was on EW's list.

Exactly, I say. I almost didn't read it because of what I considered a pretty twee title, but I'm glad I did.

Hey there! I just stumbled upon your blog by accident. I agree with your thoughts about TGLaPPPS. The book is a quick read, but it has surprising depth. It'll stay with me for a long time.
