Lonesome Dove was very male centric, violent, and death ridden, so I think it would be easy to dislike. Then again, the west wasn't hospitable to women, but still, not really a female-forward book. I love how book geeks try to get literal about desert islands and what would be practical. But yes, Les Miz would be a good one! Does that make me interesting? As for my one book choice, Les Miserables has been my favorite one book for many years. And I haven't re-read it in a long time, so it would be familiar and fresh at the same time. And long.
