I didn’t remember that either. But I had just been diagnosed with scoliosis, so my focus was really on Deenie’s experience with the brace. Fortunately, I didn’t need one.

ok, my 13 yo daughter finished it and (of course) i just had to ask: did you notice…
her answer was that the 1st couple of passages were vague and she didn’t know for sure what it meant but once the teacher labelled the Q as masterbation, she figured that’s what they were about. and no OMG moment for her when she understood either.
when i told her my take as a teen was oblivion, she was laughed and said you must have been young!

i re-read deenie too
(and absolutely missed the ‘touching’ herself stuff when i was younger too! in fact , this time around, i missed the last mention - about the warm tub and washcloth - i guess i was skimming? was that my problem back then too? skimming?)
my daughter picked it up when i was done. let’s see what she says after she’s done…
