		<description>This was a gripping book. I think Dmitri is referring to the Bernards when he's talking about "them," i.e. humorless careerists with a lot of power. Dmitri really comes to life when he's in prison. He's still confusing, but adversity and restraint force him to try to explain and confess. I thought of Crime and Punishment during this sequence. 
I'm up north and finished the whole thing. I look forward to this book club meeting!</description>
