Thanks for affirming the effort, and it WAS an effort, though I felt it puny in comparison to some of the marathons of the other readers, many of whom have kids (though perhaps not such small kids as Guppy).

I just finished Catcher, and will have a review soon. Very weird book, and I wish I'd read it BEFORE King Dork. I veered between liking it and being annoyed by it, and ended with being creeped out by it.

I, too, love the Boynton books, as you can see from my reading list, but I do think some are much better than others. Pajama Time is only OK, but there are a few we love, like Hippos Go Berserk and But Not the Hippopotamus, that we didn't read this weekend.

Wow, I'm impressed that you made it through 106 pages of Catcher in the Rye with two small children! I'm not sure I would have done so well. Congrats on persevering and accomplishing so much!

I think that's a great effort, and writing down all the time spent reading really makes you think about how best to use the time.
I hated Catcher in the Rye, but I read it 20 years ago.
I love every one of Sandra Boynton's books. I never get sick of reading them to the kids.
