Tiny house is fine if you have no kids. Or books. My house is 1800 square feet on 1/10 acre and even that is too much for me to care for but just enough that my husband and I have our own spaces, can co-exist with 2 rambunctious boys, and have the television stashed in the basement for compartmentalization.</description>

I've never read this one, and may never read it, but his essay "On the Duty of Civil Disobedience" changed my life when I read it just after high school, and got me into a lot of trouble with my father.

I wonder how much of an influene he is on the Tiny House movement which I've been following for some time.  I like the idea of the simplified small living spaces which seem right up Thoreau's alley, or woodland path....</description>
