In regard to the nudity in calliope, which many fans objected to, someone noted that it's simply easier to draw a nude/nearly nude person than a clothed one, and on a monthly deadline, perhaps faster was necessary. So more nudity not added, but rather clothes not added.

Really dig Dream Country. After reading through the script of Calliope we get more insight into Gaiman's intentions with the art. Seems more nudity added by the illustrator. I too really like the integration of Shakespeare in Sandman's world. And the peanut gallery blocks were fun to read. Here, Gaiman talks of feminism a bit too.

Need to get the first three back to you in exchange for next set so I can get to Seasons of Mist.

Also, an aside: the introductory letter by Erickson was great.

Roxane, Dream Country has four very different tales, so it makes sense that it isn't as involving as Season of Mists, which I think is an excellent example of how Sandman blends myth and modern storytelling. But I will always love that Shakespeare issue from Dream Country.

I like the pace- I think it's perfect for me as a first time reader because it keeps me interested in what's going to happen without allowing me to get stuck in any one bit of the story. It also has the advantage of pushing me to get past the horror parts I don't particularly care for to more fantasy stuff I like. I will admit that when we read two in one week I have trouble remembering where in the books some of the storylines are.

For this week- I wasn't crazy about Dream Country but I loved Season of Mists; the story and characters totally captured me. I want to know more about the Endless and their realms, and how they travel from one to another.

How is the reading process going for everyone? Too fast, or are the stories devour-able enough to keep to this hectic pace?

The pace is good for me, so far, but this is the week I bet I fall behind. Good thing we built in a break. I have to stop myself from reading ahead too much so as not to forget. Also, I have enough other stuff I am supposed to read, but would rather read this now.

Coincidentally (?), I had just got Jodorowsky’s Dune to watch soon.
Entertainment Weekly's critical consensus had it in the top 5 of 2014.

Great catch on the Giger art up there. Wow.

Busy couple days, but hope to tweet more at #SandMN.
