The Year of Secret Assignments by Jaclyn Moriarty

#55 in my book challenge for the year, The Year of Secret Assignments is a really good young adult novel. It’s mostly epistolary, told in letters by six students in a pen-pal project, plus in journal and notebook entries. It is both funny and touching, centering on friendship, loss, finding oneself, plus a teensy bit of revenge. The main characters are likeable and engaging, and the book moves at a quick pace.

    epistolatory, or epistolary. Like Clarissa.

Duly noted and edited. I think I was thinking it was like “stationery” but then didn’t spell check. My writing time is rushed, lately, so I’m playing a little fast and loose with the details.

I love this book - it’s so evocative of what it was like to be a teenager.

I loved this book so much. It is one of my favorites. The characters are funny and they are easy to be compaired to. The plot was excelently told. The entire story was writen as letters from pen pals. I thought this was a unique and GrEaT idea. I recomend this book to everyone. You will deffinetly like it if you LoVeD the sisterhood of the traveling pants books. I find so many aspects similar throughout the books…such as how the books are based on a friend ship. N E Ways.
