Facebook Funnies

Hamlet, on Facebook. (Link from Morning News and ALoTT5MA)

Guess what? White people love Facebook (link from my friend lxbean), which I recently joined. I’m discouraged by how many things I like that White People like–81 out of 106, right now. I don’t delude myself that I’m unique, but it’s a humbling reminder of how herd-like my supposedly independent thinking is.

    I get what you are saying. In my case, I tend to go too far in the other direction, rejecting something that I would probably like simply because I don’t want to be seen as part of a herd.

    I usually try something first, THEN find out everybody else is doing it, and feel slightly foolish, but not enough to stop whatever enjoyable thing it is!

    So the realization that I’m part of a white-person herd is just usually the reminder once again that I’m hardly as unique or clever as I wish I were.
